You can also read our top tips for effective revision here.

Tip 2: Ensure there are no gaps.

If you were off school sick for 1 week in Year 8, you may have missed a key topic. Sometimes these topics are never revisited again because the GCSE course is so big that there simply isn’t enough time.

Therefore, it is important to go through the entire GCSE/IGCSE course again, just to check that you haven’t missed anything. We recommend skim reading our Addvance revision guides to double check.

If there is something unfamiliar, watch the video on it and do some practice, all of which is linked in the guide.

Tip 3: Master your Calculator

Our Casio ClassWizz page explains lots of quick and simple tricks for mastering your calculator. These quick tricks are a life hack when it comes to exams!

Tip 4: Watch our Grade 7+ Focus Videos.

These videos are focussed on the hardest GCSE/IGCSE questions we could find. They showcase the logical thinking, algebra and problem solving skills that is required to achieve the highest possible grades at GCSE.

We recommend pausing each video when the questions are first shown, so that you can try the questions yourself before seeing the answer. This helps you get the most out of each question.

Beware! They’re difficult! Good luck 😊

Tip 5: Practice, Self-Mark and Reflect

Practice makes perfect!

You must check that you are getting the marks correct in each question. Use a Markscheme to check that you are indeed getting your questions correct.

Our past paper page is here.

Made some mistakes? Reflect on them, making sure you understand exactly what went wrong in that moment to loose those marks!
